Sports team expenses without a kitty: pitch fees, travel and post-match food

One person books the pitch, another drives to the tournament, a third pays for pizza. With one Partly group for the team, everyone sees what they owe, game after game.

Free with ads: 3 active groups, 5 AI scans and 5 payment links per month. Others join the group in the app, by link or QR code.

Why team money becomes a thing

  • The same person always books and pays for the pitch, then waits to be paid back.
  • Who shows up changes every week, so dividing by the full squad never adds up.
  • Car trips to tournaments are never split the same way twice.
  • A kitty needs someone to manage it, and cash nobody carries.

Split team costs in 4 steps

  1. 01

Create a group for the team

A “Custom” or “Event” group for the season or the tournament. Send the invite link to the team chat: everyone joins in the app.

  2. 02

Add each session with who played

For each pitch booking, keep only the players who were there. For a player who won’t join the group, add their first name to that expense.

  3. 03

Travel and food, case by case

Fuel for each car’s passengers, food for whoever stayed: every expense has its own participants.

  4. 04

    Check balances whenever you like

Balances are always up to date. Close the group at the end of the season or tournament: Partly shows who owes how much to whom, then you record the paybacks.

What a team actually needs

Who played, not the full squad

Each expense is split between the players involved, not everyone.

No kitty to manage

Everyone pays when it’s their turn and Partly keeps the tally. The app never holds or transfers money.

Payment reminders

You can send a reminder from the app to whoever still owes something.

Paybacks your way

Everyone lists how to pay them back (IBAN, PayPal, Venmo, Revolut…, depending on the country).

Team costs and sport with friends: FAQ

Can Partly handle club memberships and dues?

No, it isn’t club or association management software. Partly is for costs shared between teammates: pitch, travel, kit, food.

How do we split when players change every week?

Add one expense per session and keep only who played. Everyone’s balance updates with each expense.

A player doesn’t want to install the app. What now?

Add their first name directly to the expenses that involve them: they show up on those expenses only, without joining the group.

Can the weekly pitch booking repeat automatically?

Yes, an expense can be made recurring. The free plan allows 2 active recurring expenses per group; Premium has no limit.

Is it free?

The free plan, with ads, includes 3 active groups, 5 AI scans and 5 payment links per month. Premium removes those limits; the price is shown in the app.

You play, the app keeps score of the money
