A native shared expenses calculator for WordPress

Help visitors work out who owes whom inside your travel guide, flatshare page or community website. The Partly block calculates in their browser.

Download the WordPress block

ZIP · Version 1.0.0 · GPL-2.0-or-later

GPL source and GitHub release

A useful next step after booking

A host, association or shared residence can place the block in a welcome guide. Visitors enter what their group has paid; your website does not ask them to create a Partly account.

Install the plugin and add the block

  1. 1.Upload the ZIP

In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Upload the complete ZIP, then activate Partly Split Expenses Block.

  2. 2.Choose your page

In the block editor, insert “Partly Split Expenses”. Choose English, French or Spanish and one currency in the block settings.

  3. 3.Publish and check

Save your page and check a fictional example. The optional Partly credit starts off and is never required to use the calculator.

Fictional example

Example: groceries for a weekend away

Fictional example in EUR, with three people sharing every expense equally.

Alice paid €90.00
Ben paid €30.00
Chloé paid €0.00
Weights: 1 / 1 / 1

Total: €120.00, or €40.00 each. Ben reimburses Alice €10.00 and Chloé reimburses Alice €40.00. With weights 2 / 1 / 1 on both expenses, the shares become €60.00 / €30.00 / €30.00: Chloé then reimburses Alice €30.00.

What the block supports

  • The package declares WordPress 6.5 or later and PHP 7.4 or later. It uses the block editor, with no shortcode or other required plugin.
  • 2–30 people and 1–100 expenses, each with a payer and share weights. Zero excludes a person from that expense.
  • One currency per calculation: EUR, USD, GBP, CHF or CAD. Remaining cents follow the largest remainders, with ties resolved in participant order.

Inputs stay in the calculator

The block does not send names or amounts to Partly, save them in WordPress or add cookies, browser storage or analytics. The hosting website and its other plugins can process data under their own policies. Reloading the page clears the block’s inputs.

Practical questions

Is it an iframe?

No. This package adds a native WordPress block with readable source under GPL-2.0-or-later. If you cannot install plugins, the Partly iframe kit is another option.

Does it send reimbursements?

No. It displays balances and an arithmetic proposal. Participants check the amounts and settle separately.

Can only two people share a particular expense?

Yes. Keep positive weights for the people involved and set the others to zero. The payer can also be excluded from the split.
